Robert Heath optimises operational efficiency with Fleet Director
Robert Heath Heating (the Company) is one of the UK's leading heating and maintenance contractors, working across the south of England for local authorities, housing associations and social landlords. The company's 110-strong team of engineers carry out repairs and servicing in about 60,000 properties.
To keep this major operation running smoothly and cost efficiently - and to meet the rigorous customer service standards required by public sector organisations, the Company has recently installed Trafficmaster's Fleet Director fleet management solution throughout its 100+ fleet of Citroen light commercial vans and Smart cars.
Stuart Cocks, Financial Director at Robert Heath is delighted with the operational benefits Fleet Director has already delivered in the first six months since installation in November 2008. "Since installing Fleet Director, with the Smartnav satellite navigation as well, we have seen some significant savings in our operational costs and a general increase in productivity in terms of the numbers of jobs being handled by our engineers.

Fleet Director has enabled Robert Heath to improve all aspects of their fleet management and tracking. The location of all vehicles can be identified on screen at any given time, so deployment decisions can be made in "real-time". This ensures the closest vehicle to a new or emergency job can be despatched, improving response times and productivity.
The system also tracks private mileage and out of hours usage of company vehicles. "Since installing Fleet Director, we have recorded around a 25% cut in private mileage costs - again this has helped us improve individual driver productivity and performance."
Robert Heath decided to install Fleet Director after investigating a number of fleet management solutions and also having the opportunity to trial the system already featured in some of their Citroen vans.
